To me, photography is one of the media that can express my creativity to create art from nothing to something. I just think that we can see and search for beauty everywhere and in everything depend on how we see it.
My subject is usually just things I found at home, work place, doctors waiting room, restaurants or on the streets and even the trash can… yes trash can.. one example is when I saw a crushed Pepsi tin can. It immediately took my attention. The shape of the destructed can to me is a form of beauty. The curves, the edges the dent and the dimension from every angle have their own esthetic value.
I probably am more of a small picture photographer. I like details, I like to explore the subject by cutting it to pieces, opening the layers, and learn something from it.
My favorite quote comes from my idol, photographer Ansel Adams, “You don’t take photograph, you make it” Adams has a huge influence in me, especially his black and white tones.
Through photography I can express my emotions and transmit it to the viewers, I can share my opinion on how I see things… at the end of the day every head have different opinions and for me people are free to interpret my art.
It’s been 5+ years since I started to do photography. My first photo was taken with my olympus pocket camera and edit it on Adobe Photoshop. I did it just for fun, didn’t do much on editing, basically just transforming it into different kinds of effect. From there then I started to post it on several photo sites and trying to do a bit more serious in editing my pic. I met with other photographers from all over the world and I can see different kind of style and taste in every each one of them. It’s pretty cool to be able to learn new photography techniques and enjoying beautiful pictures everyday at the same time. More practice in taking shots with manual settings and understanding the principal of art which luckily I learn it in college pretty much improve my photography until then I discovermy own style. I manage to print 5 photo book last year, nothing fancy just something I could share with my grandchildren one day 😊
Soft dreamy effect from this Lensbaby Spark is the effect that I’m going for, but I still can get a little bit of on-focus part of the object. This kind of photography is almost like water colour drawing it amaze me how it can create paint like photos. Although it needs a bit of practicing on how to operate the lens, but it will surprise you once you get the hang of it. Here are some of the results.
