2013…..It has been a great year for my photography journey… I have been learning and experiencing a lot, although I still need to improve myself. I’m obviously taking baby steps, for there’s always time and money limitations in process..but I know I will get there some day…
This blog of mine has been a great place for me to present my work. I’m very grateful for those who take their time visiting and commenting…. You have no idea how much I appreciate you all… To everyone of you, I wish you a very Happy New Year…. May 2014 be greater… Keep up the good work and keep on creating good art. Peace on earth!!
You see things everyday whether it’s trees, leaves, animals, rocks, phones, wire, tower, buildings, people…. you name it, but you didn’t have the chance to take a closer look of it… the uniqueness that’s in every single thing you see. Not everyone see things the same way, people have different kind of perception depending on their mood and interest …. well that’s what I think, there’s probably more aspects, I need to do some research about it and it could be an interesting one. Anyways, I am so glad that people invented a camera that can record images that is still (photograph) or moving (videos). I will not try to discuss about all those camera and the psychology things since I’m not an expert of it but I will share photographs of what I shoot on a daily basis… things I see everyday and find it even more interesting as I look in through the view finder, trying to get a great angle and composition. As my idol photographer Ansel Adams says : “Photography as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution“. So just go out there and shoot something… with your camera!
Wishing everyone a very merry Christmas. Happy Holidays from my family to yours…hope all of you are having a great time with your love ones… Peace!
Every Saturday I will post photos with the theme ‘Simplicity’. All of it which is taken by me and edited by me and obviously the way I see it and interpret it. Let me just breakdown the meaning of ‘simplicity’ according to Dictionary.com :
/sɪmˈplɪsɪti/ Show Spelled [sim-plis-i-tee] Show IPA
noun, plural sim·plic·i·ties.
1.the state, quality, or an instance of being simple
2.freedom from complexity, intricacy, or division into parts: an organism of great simplicity.
3.absence of luxury, pretentiousness, ornament, etc.; plainness: a life of simplicity.
4.freedom from deceit or guile; sincerity; artlessness; naturalness: a simplicity of manner.
5.lack of mental acuteness or shrewdness: Politics is not a field for simplicity about human nature
As for my photos, I think #1 is the best to describe it but I will be open to all opinions. This photo was taken last week when we had this ice storm coming our way. Freezing rain and although it’s not really a pleasant weather but the scenery is really beautiful. Captured few of it, but here’s one.
What do you do when you’re done with all the shopping at a tourist area and just hanging out in front of the store waiting for the others? I take pictures 🙂 From the streets of New Orleans, beautiful old buildings just captured my heart, in love with the old features, antique and rustic, I just can’t stop taking pictures ..too many to show it here but here are some that I like the most….
I was practicing how to take black and white portraits with one source of natural lighting from my window, it’s pretty hard I can tell you. Theory and practice sometimes doesn’t match. For some reason there’s always a place for error and I just can’t get it right, but on the other side when you think you’re done with it and got frustrated then out of the blue the picture turns out just exactly like you wanted, I guess you have to go through all those trial and errors to get to the best one! Well at least this is the shot I’m looking for, thank God for digital cameras, took tons of pic and only a few that I think it’s good enough. So here it is……… a dark selfie 🙂
